A native of Princeton, WV, Amy L. Gaffney came to the Palmetto State for law school at the University of South Carolina and has remained since graduating in 1994. Ms. Gaffney practiced with a small firm and a large corporate law firm prior to starting a solo practice in 1999, where she practiced until she formed Gaffney Lewis & Edwards, LLC with her partners.
Since 2008 Ms. Gaffney has worked in Gaffney Lewis and Edwards’ Mount Pleasant office, allowing the firm to serve clients throughout South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
Ms. Gaffney has been a certified mediator since 1995, resolving a number of state and federal employment actions and provides advice and counsel to companies and individuals on hiring and termination decisions, as well as employment contracts and severance agreements. She has conducted training through private seminars and continuing legal education courses on various aspects of employment law, trial practice and mediation.
Represents: Companies and individuals, primarily in employment-related matters. She has conducted internal investigations and negotiated the resolution of discrimination and other claims on behalf of companies, including major national retailers. She also is a certified mediator.
