After graduating from law school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Regina Hollins Lewis practiced in the litigation department of a large Maryland corporate defense firm. She later directed a non-profit legal clinic where she represented victims of domestic violence. In 1994, Ms. Lewis was appointed an assistant attorney general for the state of Maryland.
She returned home to South Carolina in 2000 and was employed as special counsel of a large corporate defense firm. She subsequently became a member, practicing in the Employment and Labor and Business Litigation practice groups. In July 2007 she formed Gaffney Lewis & Edwards, LLC along with her partners, Amy L. Gaffney and Susan R. Edwards.
Represents: Insurance and employment defense clients, as well as companies and individuals in a broad range of claims, including actions for negligence, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, wrongful termination, and federal discrimination claims. Conducts independent internal investigations on behalf of companies to assess claims of discrimination and other misconduct. Also is a certified mediator.
